Thank you to everyone who joined with us in prayer on February 2nd! It is encouraging to know that there are many people around the world who recognize the connections between environmental problems and social injustice and who pray and act for restoration and peace. Groups or individuals from the following areas signed up to participate or participated in some way: Santa Fe, NM: Day of Prayer church service* Covenant College, GA: tuned into web meeting Taylor University, IN: prayer stations and prayer book Swannanoa, NC The Kings University College: Chapel prayer time and prayer jar for concerns First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe Cedarville University, OH* Minneapolis, MN: prayer during Bible study Northwestern College A Rocha UK: contributed to web meeting Wheaton College, IL: Taize service Biola University: prayers throughout the day Hubertus, WI: contributed to web meeting Bangladesh: contributed to web meeting Franklin, TN: contributed to web meeting Los Angeles, CA: contributed to web meeting Kaikoura, New Zealand: contributed to web meeting Ethiopia: prayer led by church leaders Messiah College (?) Thanks to Matt from Santa Fe, Lawrence from Bangladesh, Lisa from New Zealand, and Will and Pip from the UK for sharing prayers and thanks from their own locales! Prayer is critical for giving our concerns to God and for for reminding us that we can't do anything without Him. Having a centralized day to focus on prayer for these issues gives us a special opportunity to pray together but also causes us to remember that we should pray every day of the year! Let's continue to pray that: -All of creation would experience Christ's shalom, -We would educate ourselves to know what is happening in our local and global communities, -We would have wisdom to make decisions that heal rather than hurt.
